Garden Machinery Retail Showroom Sales
This is an opportunity to work for our client, that we have had the pleasure of working with for over 8 years.
They are Family owned, have been established for over 100 years, and are very successful.
To be considered you will need knowledge of lawn mowers, strimmers, and blowers etc. so you may have worked within a Garden Centre, Nursery or DIY type environment e.g. Homebase, B&Q, Dobbies etc.
Role Purpose:
Reporting to the Assistant Branch & Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the Grass Machinery showroom sales at the branch. Your role will be to maximize sales opportunities for the department in a courteous and effective manner and also assist in the showroom and parts department during the quieter periods.
Essential Skills/Experience:
* Excellent people skills and enjoy working with the general public
* Familiarity of working in a retail environment and showroom experience
* Understanding of Horticultural equipment to include lawnmowers, chainsaws, blowers, strimmers etc
* Motivated by sales and targets and has the ability to upsell
* Basic mechanical understanding to enable assembly of products when needed
* Enjoy working in a busy atmosphere and can cope under pressure during busy periods
* Good communication skills: face to face, letter, email and fax
* General computer skills and familiarity with email and internet use
* Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
* Attention to detail and accuracy with numbers, handling of cash, cheque and card payments
* A team player-capable of working alone or with other team staff
* Able to use own initiative
* Smart & presentable appearance
* Maintain a good general level of health and fitness
Additional Information:
Start Date: Immediate, but subject to successful candidates notice period
Hours: 42.5hrs per week 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday (1hr unpaid lunch break) Saturdays as per rota (8am to 12.30pm)
Contract: Permanent, Full time, Salaried
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience plus commission
