Zwartbles top at 2,800gns

The sale of Zwartbles females at Carlisle topped at 2,800gns for Speccott Lily, a ewe lamb by Speccott Hugo Boss out of Speccott Ellen, a Holmlea Ally daughter, which had been reserve female champion at the South West Breeders Show at Okehampton. Consigned by Jethro Kimber, Okehampton, it sold to R.J. Heigh, Bentham, who also paid 2,000gns for the first prize gimmer shearling.

This was Liverton Kylie, a Liverton Barney daughter, scanned in-lamb with twins to Greenhill Hagred from J. and A. Stevenson, Saltburn by the Sea.

Making 1,800gns was Pendle Lancashire Lass, a ewe lamb by Coverham KnockEmOut from Issy Hartley, Roughlee, which was knocked down to Messrs Blamire, Thursby.

Messrs Pickford, Macclesfield, paid 1,100gns for Hayberries Khaleesi, a gimmer by Hayberries Hard Copy and carrying a single by Joyfield Jay-Z, from P. and S. Addison, Barnard Castle.

Cairnhill Kinrara, a gimmer by Donbraid Jay and in-lamb with twins to Cairnhill Kalon, from K. and W. Anderson, Inverness, made 1,000gns to Messrs McGrandles, Glasgow.

 Averages - 9 aged ewes, £402.50; 35 shearling ewes, £510.60; 63 ewe lambs, £355; Bridgelands dispersal - 10 aged ewes        , £284.55; 6 ewe lambs, £214.50; 1 aged ram, £735.
