
Canadian Cattle Association president Nathan Phinney said he was 'very disappointed' to see UK walk away from the trade talks due to non-tariff barriers.
He emphasised the UK was a ‘friend of Canada'.
"Given how the conversations have gone over the past few years it really was not surprising to our industry," he said.

"The sooner we can get back to the table, that is what we would ideally like to see happen."
He added Canada was very strong on science and research and its position was that hormone treated beef was safe and to let consumers decide.
