Two farming programmes have been nominated to win one of television's best factual entertainment shows.

Clarkson's Farm and The Yorkshire Vet have both been named in the five programme shortlist to be crowned the National Television Award's best factual entertainment show.

Last year, the award was won by ITV's Paul O'Grady: For the Love of Dogs.

But now Jeremy Clarkson, Kaleb Cooper, Lisa Hogan, Charlie Ireland and Gerald Cooper will all be hoping they win the award after the success of Clarkson's Farm series three.

Peter Wright, star of The Yorkshire Vet, has released a message asking for the public's support ahead of the deadline of September 11.

"We have been nominated for a National Television Award, all thanks to your votes. But now we'd love your help to try and win it."

"I am asking for your help again," he added.

"Thanks to everyone your help so far.

"We are now on the shortlist for the awards.

"But we need more votes because we are up against four other programmes.

"I am asking for your support to give us that little nudge once more so we can win this award.

"It will be huge for us."
